Katrina Pavlovsky moved to Victoria from Toronto in 2007. Her career includes Dance/Movement Education with children from JK to grade 6. Katrina pioneered and taught a Creative/Dance Movement program in thirteen schools. Additionally, Katrina presented at conferences, designed and taught professional development workshops to educational staff and conducted individual sessions with special needs children. She also created a Creativity program for families.
Katrina’s training of 15 years included modern, ballet, interpretive, creative dance and Russian Folk Ballet. She studied in Toronto, Halifax, Cannes, Paris and Copenhagen. Katrina has a B.A. in Drama and English. Katrina became a Dance/Movement educator specializing in Creative Dance/Movement and Interpretive Dance. For over 20 years, Katrina taught classes to children and adults in schools and studios. Katrina created and taught guided imagery and relaxation in palliative care centres as well as in care facilities for seniors.
In Victoria Katrina continues as a Companion. In 2012 Katrina combined her careers as a Dance/Movement Educator and a Companion to offer classes in DanSit in facilities throughout Victoria. Her passion for dance/movement speaks through her teaching style.
